Driftwood hotel in Hyams Beach - New South Wales - Jervis Bay

Driftwood hotel in Hyams Beach Finding a place to stay in Jervis Bay can be really tough.

The reason isn’t because of a lack of accommodation but rather there are just so many options! I really suggest that you do yourself a favor and make your stay easy and relaxing: stay right on the beach. Ok, but which beach? Let’s think about this.

You want to be close to the Booderee National Park and the pristine Green Patch Beach. However, you also want to be close to some stores, restaurants and cafes. Hyams Beach is probably the best place that you could stay in Jervis Bay.

It really is an amazing beach with pure white sand and turquoise waters. I like that it isn’t crowded like Huskisson up to the north and you can really relax there. One of my favorite places to stay while at Jervis Bay is the Driftwood Hotel in Hyams Beach.

First of all, the location is superb. You just walk down a flight of curving stairs and arrive right at the beach. Even from the veranda, you can enjoy a sensational view of the ocean which is only 100 meters away. The property itself is a haven; there is a ¼ acre featuring a tropical, leafy yard. The house is HUGE. You can comfortably fit 10 people in this space in the 4 bedrooms. There are 2 ½ bathrooms which also gives you a nice luxury factor. The rates are based on six adults with a charge for each additional person.

This might not be the ideal place for a small family to stay alone; it is just too big. My family of four shares the Driftwood house with a friend’s family. It actually makes the trip even more fun, especially for the kids and we save quite a bit of money in the share.

The prices are about $2400 per week for six adults with $25 for each additional person. This isn’t the cheapest accommodation in Jervis Bay but it is definitely one of the nicest as far as location and facilities go. Plus, they don’t try to sneak in hidden costs, like paying for linen or towels. The staff is really amazing and is willing to make all restaurant, tour, and in-house massage bookings for you.
