Locavore Cafe Locavore is a term meaning to eat within a 160km radius of your home. This is the motto that the Owen Street café operates by. Everything was either grown or produced in the area or is organic or Fair Trade.

The proprietors of Locavore are Belinda and a young chef, Amy Webb. Both are passionate about the locavore diet and its benefits. Not only does this positively impact your health, but it also supports the local community and growers.

On an environmental level, locavore diets require much less energy for transporting goods.

When you visit the Locavore café in Jervis Bay, you will really see just how dedicated this pair is to promoting this diet.

They have a huge menu all based around South Coast foods. There is berry sourdough bread, cheese, husky jams, smoked lamb, salmon, eggs, flavorful olive oils and seasonal fruits and vegetables.

The dishes are simple but delicious and prepared in a way that combines the complimenting flavors.

Locavore also is promoting the local community by serving as an art gallery.

While you eat, you can see public art in one of the changing exhibitions.
