Top 20 Travel Destinations: Margaret River Mammoth Cave Wow, if visiting Margaret River, you have to see the caves for something really special.My favourite is Mammoth Cave as it is self guided and so peaceful and tranquil.I love the beautiful reflections off the lake inside the cave at Lake Cave and the coloured lights turn it into a mirrored wonderland.

At Jewel Cave has lofty chambers with a golden glow that is unforgettable (my mother-in-law's favourite) If you are visiting Margaret River, you need to visit at least one of the vast underground caves.

The major ones are Jewel,Lake and Mammoth Cave.

All of them are great but Mammoth Cave was by far my favorite because it is self guided and truly a spectacular journey. You start out by walking through the Karri Forest along a boardwalk which will take you to the cave entrance.

The light inside of the cave bounces off all of the formations. Mammoth Cave really lives up to its name: it is 500 meters long and 30 meters deep. Even though you walk through it on your own, you can still rent audio headsets to get all the information.
