Top 20 Travel Destinations: Coffs Harbour Pet Porpoise Pool Since we were with our kids on our trip to Coffs Harbour, we decided to skip the dolphin watching cruise and go to the Pet Porpoise Pool instead. I was really surprised. This is definitely not your typical marine park! The whole place is set up so that you can interact with the animals.

The dolphins are the most popular and you can literally get kissed by them. I love how friendly the animals are and you really can see that they are happy. Pet Porpoise Pool works as a rehabilitation center for animals as well as an educational center so the animals really come first. My kids loved feeding the penguins and I think they learned quite a bit from the shows were fantastic.

They didn’t stop talking about dolphin Bella all day. We didn’t know it then but there are picnic facilities right next to the park. We ate in the café and I was thrilled to see kangaroos and other animals hopping around the area (far enough away from your food though!). There was really so much to do and see at this place.

Even if you don’t have kids, it is still worth a trip.
