Accommodation in Magnetic Island can be really disappointing. The island’s top resorts are terribly old and most of the accommodation give you false impressions in the photos they post online. Most people stay at Nelly Bay just because of its close proximity to the ferry.

You are much better going up to Horseshoe Bay where there is budget accommodation. These places to sleep are not just much cheaper, but are a lot nicer! I give my seal of approval on a nice self-catering holiday home called Summer Haze.

It is really spacious with a big kitchen, two bedrooms and a nice sitting area. I will admit that the house lacks a lot of character but you will be hard pressed to find a better deal for your money.

The price of linen is included. A lot of other places state a cheap price and then make you pay another $100 for sheets.

You do have to bring your own towels to Summer Haze though. The location is great, especially if you are coming by car. You can be at the beach, shops, or Koala Park Oasis in just a few minutes.

They also have facilities like laundry and airconditioning. Depending on when you go and how long you stay, expect to pay around $125 per night or $800 for a week.
